Ecem Y. Cicek is an artist and cultural practitioner working primarily on a project basis across theatre, visual arts, and community-driven initiatives.

She initially focused on theatre, studying at Cours Florent and gaining experience in established theatres through work and volunteer engagements. This exposure allowed her to analyze adaptations, original works, and various production roles. She has also acted and provided voice over for small theatre and art projects.

Her passion for creative productions began in childhood, accompanying her aunt in radio and TV productions. The creative energy of these environments left a lasting impression, shaping her artistic path. Alongside her deep interest in visual arts and art history, she pursued studies in therapeutic and community arts, believing in the transformative power of artistic expression to channel destructive urges into constructive creativity.

While she believes that an empty space is all it takes for an idea to flourish, she is equally drawn to merging different disciplines. She has collaborated with artists, institutions, and cultural organizations across various countries, bringing creative visions to life through exhibitions, festivals, and cross-disciplinary initiatives. This interdisciplinary approach defines her work, from cultural mediation and curatorial projects to performance and storytelling.

Her current focus is Récits d’être, a project that is both a community art initiative and a docuseries, as well as the pre-production of her upcoming theatre play.
